Training Rides : Team Aggress!

Training Rides

Main Shootout:  The fastest Saturday ride in Tucson, probably Arizona. The Shootout is hosted by Fair Wheel Bikes and starts on University of Arizona’s west side at University Avenue and Euclid Avenue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.  The ride takes you south on Mission Road to Green Valley where it swings around, up Helmet Peak Road and back to Tucson.  It’s fast, it’s fun and it’s difficult and about 65 miles.

Riders often tack on extra distance by climbing up Madera Canyon or hitting Gates Pass.

The Old Man Shootout:  The difference between the Shootout and The Old Man Shootout is the Old Man version leaves 15 minutes earlier and is slower.  That said, it’s still a quick ride!

Bicyle Ranch Ride: Current start time 8:00 AM, Saturdays, from the Bicycle Ranch shop, Tucson location, on the corner of Ina and Oracle.  This ride is often faster than the Old Man Shootout, but slower than the Shootout.  The ride is about 55 miles.

  • Mission

Aggress is a Tucson-based statewide / regional cycling team formed in January, 2004.
As a developmental team for both road and mountain bike racing, Aggress continues to actively – yet carefully – recruit according to a philosophy that emphasizes teamwork in both training and racing tactics.
Our focus is to race as a team, utilizing team tactics to get our man the win. We ride in support of our designated racer, with each member in turn supported in the key event(s) of his choosing.
We are aggressive when we race, but we behave in a courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times. We also have team training rides that we utilize throughout the season.
